Dow Corning Dow Dowsil has evolved from the original company Dow Corning! Formally established in 1943 as a joint venture between the American conglomerates Dow Chemical and Corning Glass to explore the potential of silicone, they were a manufacturer of products for use by the U.S. military in World War II. Dow subsequently bought out Corning and Dow Corning became a 100% Dow subsidiary who are now wholly owned by Dow and specialize in silicone and silicon-based technology, being the largest silicone product producer in the world. In 2017 a new product brand name DOWSIL™ was announced for Heritage Dow Corning high-performance silicone building products. We stock the phenomenally successful Dowsil 7 Series (formerly known as The Dow Corning 7 Series) in it’s entirety along with other specialist Dowsil silicone mastic joint sealants. Working closely with the UK distributor Geocel (now under the Sherwin Williams umbrella) We’ve sold Dow’s silicone sealants consistently over the last 35 years, with customers ranging from do it yourselfers, (preferring a high quality, long-lasting product, over a cheap, generic, general purpose) to professional trades people who are either working to architects’ specifications or simply choosing to use the brand due to reputation and/or their personal experience.
